My husband’s death was sudden. Shortly before he died, he quoted John 16:33.
I wondered, “why would he tell me that I was going to suffer, but to be confident, bold even?” Since then, I’ve had major health, financial and personal challenges. Without faith and trust in God, it is unlikely, I would have experienced the reconciliation of years-long broken family relationships, a healing from Cancer, and the continual provision of financial resources. Because Christ overcame the world, through Him, I am more than a conqueror. Bob died his daughter’s birthday, his heart stopped while he was taking a nap on the couch. This “suddenly” was unexpected and devastating for his wife and daughter, who were planning a fun time together starting at their favorite Chinese buffet, and then to the premiere of the latest Star Wars movie.
On the other hand, Bob, a follower of Christ, woke up in Paradise with no more chronic pain or earthly concerns. Bob was happier than he’d ever been. His “suddenly” was great! The greatest love, is faithful love, and God Your love is forever faithful and true. You never change, You are dependable and Your Word is truth, You are always with me, and I can trust that You are, Who You say, You are.
Lord Jesus, You are magnificent! |
Lord, You are sovereign.
You decide when, and where, and how. You are the Holy One, Who dwells in the midst of the praises of Your people. Let us bless the Lord, Who is worthy to receive all glory, and thank Him for His goodness! |
